Fantasy Playoffs are started but depending hoow you did your season could all ready be over. As I stated before I am a firm believer in total points to decide a winner not head to head. I am in several leagues and the two I am most concerned about one is head to head other total points. The one that is total points over all I am top scorer and best record. The one that is head to head I was the third seed in playoffs and still had top scoring offense. I won my first playoff game and will be playing this weekend to place for higher money. Two leagues and two differnt outcomes but in both I have the most potent scoring team.
Now To the Fantasy mailbag
Hey Vet,
I limped in to playoffs and now might lose my Running backs. I had Jacobs and Hillis as my starters after I lost Graham, Selvin Young and Maroney. Now I am running with no depth. Can you give me some advice?
The Giants
Ouch. I would say hope for better luck next year. There is a good chance Jacobs plays so that mihgt help. I would check your waiver wire for Tatum Bell, He should play a week before getting hurt. Seeing Denver can not keep a RB healthy. Also Check on Pierri Thomas from the saints he is making a name for him self. Also if in a point per reception league look to get Kevin Faulk. I saw check your waiver wire and do the best you can and good luck.
Hey Commish,
I have Brett Favre and he is killibg ne. He seems to have one great week then follows it up by two bad ones, Any suggestions who I can get for the playoffs.
Mad Dogs
Hey MD,
I would check the waiver wire for Culpepper. Unless you lose points for interception I would ride the hot hand. The might get a win but they are getting some passing yards. Also in alot leaguesJeff Garcia, Gs Ferottee(Check Injury report first), Shaun Hill, and a stretch JP Losman. If are really strapped have Ken Dorsey or kevin walter, maybe Tarvaris Jackson.
Hey Commish,
I was wondering how do you rank def when drafting, waivering for them or starting them?
Starting D the Chargers
Hey Chargers D,
Well seems you drafted early and believed the Hype. A D can be as good or as bad as their offense. I personel Target Ravens, Steelers, Eagles, and Vikings in a few drafts. Vikings I only took in the leagues they fell and they did there part. The Ravens, Steelers and Eagles are top three in majority of leagues for points. Now all three of them you could get in the 12th round for most part. Unless the league had a fan of these teams. I know in one league Vikings went early. Then I was able to Draft Pitt and Baltimore in 12th round back to back picks. We trade draft picks so it was actual my final picks besides last one overall. I am a draft trading nut just so everyone knows. I then Used the Steeler and Ravens based on matchup and was pretty good at use the right one. Then I traded the Steelers before they had their rough schedule and Got Brandon Marshall and Vikings D.So besides two week I have rode the Ravens to first place. The Key to a defense is not to reach to early unless you know that the team is solid front to back. Also never believe the Hype, Usally the hype is based on one person. The Chargers where ranked second. All because Merriweather. Now if he was health he might of been there. Unfortunly he was not healthy and the team struggled. They had a few good games if you knew when to use them. Key to a def, is do your homework and not just read the fantasy magazines. The Bears are a good example. Highly ranked, Explosive return man. Yet no returns for Hester this year and the Bears have a bad game for ever two decent games. Specail teams, and Def can make or break a team. If you get a d with scoring potential they can help you win in the long run.
Well, I have a few more mailbags to answer. I will respond to the person for now, if you have a question email Commish at vet059@gmail.com use fantasy as subject. Do my best to answer them all. You might make the mailbox blog,
Commish out.

Vet, it looks like my fantasy team is too far back to make a run. This was supposed to be my swann song season. It didn't end up the way I wanted but it was fun, especialy being elected as President of OAR (inside joke)!
As for my NFL team (Cowboys), if they don't make the playoffs...they will be the biggest chokers West of the Mississippi, as last years Patriots are the biggest chokers East of the Mississippi!
Peace!
