Lito Sheppard potentially a wide receiver?
A rumors been going around for a few days now about Lito possibly being used as a wideout. The second I saw this I couldn't not laugh, I think it's absolutely ridiculous. The source was a Philly Sports Radio, so they automatically lost some credibility with me. Lito did play in some packages as the slot receiver at Florida, but I think he holds far too much value as a CB to risk being used on offense. This is the same guy who constantly gets injured playing on defense, so why would the Eagles give a defense a shot at laying Lito out? Only reason a rumor like this begins in the first place is because people feel as though Lito is expendable being we now have Asante. I don't think that is true at all, I don't think Asante was signed as Lito's replacement, I believe he was signed because he was the best available defensive free agent. Even if Lito didn't have a history of injuries I could see the Eagles still pulling the trigger for Samuel. So no, I don't believe the rumors for a second, if they were to risk that and Lito goes down AGAIN, that would currently leave us with Hanson as our 3rd corner. I'm not sure how you feel but I'd personally prefer Sheldon stay our 3rd corner than the extremely inconsistent and relatively unproven Hanson.
