Week 3

Hello Eagles fans,

I know you have been clamoring for my blog to post after those great literary works from last week. Okay let’s just leave it at that, we need to focus and pray so our boys don’t fall to 1-2. I believe that they could still get out of that hole and win the East but two wins seem a lot better than one going into the last week of September. Everyone knows the Steelers love to run and know they can supposedly throw. In order for us to come out victorious we will need a big offensive game, because the Steelers are awesome at blitzing.

I still think that their biggest holes are on the defensive secondary and just like we showed Adam (Ms. Pacman) Jones. We can throw against the Rams and the Cowgirls and I truly believe if we can protect SuperFive from that crazy haired maniac Polamalu. Then we can exploit them just like Fraction Jackson did against Ms. Pacman. It will be a tough game but I believe Westy will help us with those blitzing linebackers by gashing them with draws and screens.

Changing gears a little bit, I am sick and tired of reading all these NFL experts refusing to believe that we have the best QB in the game right now. Not only that, but we still have doubters within the Eagles community.

Hasn’t this man proved he’s worth all the money that he was paid, that he has always been the better person even when we as fans were not. That he has become the greatest QB in the teams history, maybe even the greatest player before his time is done. We will never be able to compare those old Eagle greats to the ones of the present, it is a faster and more complex game that it was back then. Never mind those personal opinions, all you have to do is look at the facts.

From the moment he was named an Eagle, SuperFive has had to endure the fans frustration of past years of failed promise. So Tereal Owins felt like he did not have his back when he wanted more money. I argue the strong point that Donovan, regardless of his relationship with the front office, knew that was a cancer from the middle of their first season. When someone comes back to the huddle crying and whining about how open he was and forgoes the fact that there is another play that needs to be called. Then you have to seriously consider the fact that this person is all about himself.

Attacked by Rush (Pill popper) Limbaugh for being labeled as a forced NFL icon, he responded with the class and dignity that we all knew he would. You think Ricky Watters would have done such a thing or even one of my favorite all time Eagles, Jerome Brown would? Come on Eagles fans, boo him when he plays bad, when he throws an interception, when he fumbles away a huge game in Dallas. Not when he keeps getting hurt and can’t run like he once did. Remember what happened to the last QB that was that kind of athlete, an Idiot coach choose him over the crowd favorite because he felt that he was reluctant to run after injuries.

Are you kidding me, do you think we would have been talking about Elway in the same light if Dan Reeves would have went with Tommy (XFL) Maddox after seeing how John could not move that well anymore. Every time someone makes a crack about a bad call or not feeling a sense of urgency in the Superbowl. I simply say this remark with all the truth behind it, “In Andy we trust”. He knows what he is doing, and has been the man behind all those division championships over his time in Philly. So when I read that “All true eagles fans knew we were not going to be able to have a game winning drive” in Monday’s game. I feel sick to my stomach, it’s really time to give it up and at the end of the season see where we are to make those comments.

Anyway, those are my opinionated opinions, let me know if I am full of it or not.

GO EAGLES!!!!

  1. Luis, I enjoyed reading this post, even though you take a shot at the Cowboys every chance you get.  As a Cowboys fan living in the Philly Burbs, I have a different perspective than your average Eagles fan.  The problem is, McNabb has never embraced the fans (for example...like Jaworski, Westbrook, Dawkins, Reggie White, etc).  He totes the company line and that rubs people the wrong way.  Is it fair?  Probably not...but that's the way it is.  Personally, I have nothing against McNabb (though he could be a little more accurate...a lot of one-hoppers), and he is probably in the top 5 QB's playing right now.  Elway was much maligned, as is McNabb, until he won the SB.  Elway and Reeves were at each other all the time.  They did not get along at all.  If the Eagles would have beaten the Cheaters, I mean Patriots, in the SB McNabb would be seen in a different light...that's just my 2 cents!
