Criticizing Donovan McNabb & Any Reid posted on 09/18/2008
I just started watching football seriously about three years ago so I’ll freely admit I don’t know everything about the game. Being a quick study, I do know that Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb are two of the best things to happen to the Eagles franchise. What I criticize them about are their decisions, not their play and play-calling, respectively.
I was upset that Andy wanted to start Donovan last year because I wanted him to be kinda like Favre and play for us for at least another 5 to 10 years. A perfect example is Shawne Merriman. He was stupid to wanna play this year with torn ligaments in his knee. If he had played this year he would have undoubtedly ended his NFL career. Coming back from an ACL injury in months would have spelled disaster for Donovan. I have friends who played rugby in college, torn their ACLs and went back to playing rugby the next year. Three years removed from the situation I still see them walking around with a limp.

Donovan McNabb 2008 NFL MVP? posted on 09/17/2008
Donovan McNabb was absolutely crazy to want to start last season. Granted, he got clearance from the team's doctors, but conventional wisdom should have prevailed. Donovan had seen Carson Palmer come back one year after tearing his ACL and he was half the player he was before the injury; what made him think he'd fare any better after 9 months?
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Donovan. When he's healthy he can compete with Tom Brady and Peyton Manning and Drew Brees. His vision, ability to run/scramble and make quick decisions make him one of the best quarterbacks in the league. Now that he is fully healthy, I expect him to throw for at least 3000, if not 3500 yards and have a TD/INT ratio of 30+/10-.
In these first two games he's proven just that. He's thrown for 642 yds and had 4 TDs/0 INTs; the league average is 302 yds and 2 TDs.
